Latest Career Fair News! 128 graduates
from the Ohio/Illinois Centers for Broadcasting attended the 7th
annual OICB Job fair this April at the Cleveland campus. They had the
opportunity to meet with employers in Radio, Television, interactive media as
well as audio and video production
houses.
Grads had the
opportunity to also audition for acting parts in a variety of industrial
training and safety videos, produced by an
Industrial Management firm.
25 employers
representing nearly 100 stations and companies were on hand to provide
immediate interviews to our graduates.
These employers
were happy with the quality of candidates presented today.
Mona
Alexander, News Director at WFMJ-TV Youngstown said "These grads are ready to go
to work and there are several I
will be meeting with in the coming weeks!"
Marc Eppler,
President of Legal Electronic Recording asked for references on several
grads before leaving today’s event, and said he will
have interviews next week with many of the people he met.
Feb. 25, 2009: Natalie
Clark joined WMFD-TV in December 2008, as a Reporter and Weather Forecaster for
Newswatch 5,6,10 and 11 evening newscasts.
Before
joining the WMFD-TV team, Natalie interned at WEWS News Channel 5 in Cleveland,
where she was able to shadow Stefani Schaefer and cover election nights. She
also had the chance to intern for COX-45 in Parma, where she reported local news
for the station. Natalie’s most memorable internship experience is when she
interned the summer of 2006 at CNN Headline News in Atlanta, where she was able
to write stories for the entertainment segments, and shadow her idol, Robin
Meade.
Natalie
graduated from Bowling Green State University, and the Ohio Center for
Broadcasting in Cleveland.
She’s originally from New London, Ohio but now
lives in Mansfield with her husband, Brad. Natalie is excited to be part of the
WMFD-TV Team!
Feb. 21, 2009: Congratulations to the Brunswick High School Video Club for
submitting the winning video entry to our “Spotlight on Education” competition!
Their $500 prize check was presented by Tim Taylor, veteran Fox-8 TV news
anchor on Saturday, Feb. 21st @ 1 P.M. at The Ohio Center for
Broadcasting Career Day held at the Cleveland Campus (see below).
The excellent winning entry highlights the student teamwork
of Sean O’Connor, Nicole Rhoades, Brittany Lemmerman, Hailey Clouse and Rachel
Williams under the guidance of John Wasylko, Communications Director and Sam
Boyer, Video Club Advisor.

The Ohio Center
for Broadcasting in Valley View is part of the nationally accredited Ohio and Illinois
Centers for Broadcasting with
additional locations in Chicago, Columbus, Cincinnati and Denver. The schools
provide the necessary skills for entry level careers in both radio and
television. At the broadcasting centers, students develop expertise in all
aspects of broadcasting on a daily basis while learning from industry
professionals. The school offers graduate placement assistance both locally and
nationally and financial aid for those who qualify.
