Admissions

Welcoming new students! We are excited to welcome the new incoming May classes into the Radio & TV Broadcasting and Online Media program!!! In April, we also had the trailblazers for the Sports Emphasis Program work a week of seven-day straight games with the South Bend Cubs Baseball team. Kudos on all of this team’s success!!

Message to Grads and soon-to-be-Grads: The Admissions Department would like to announce that we still have 4 spaces left for the coveted Sports Emphasis Program starting this May. Students in this program are working with the South Bend Cubs and meeting dozens of new to industry professionals. Students and graduates who are interested in working closely with a professional baseball team are encouraged to reach out to Kelly Loobey, Director of Admissions right away: 630-568-6654 or kloobey@beonair.com.

Education

It has been a busy time in education. We had grad Devona Goodlow who is the Director of Operations for Feliine Entertainment and works with actress Jazmin Lewis, of the Barbershop movies. We also had Tom Bamas, Producer of the Around Town segment from WGN morning news speak to the students, Mike Horowitz, producer/director from ABC 7 Chicago. On April 21, we had our Student Showcase event. We had a nice turnout for that, where students from all classes shared their work.

Career Services

Spring is in the air, which means it’s time for our local minor league teams to start their seasons. If you like baseball, then you should check out the Internships available thru the Illinois Media School’s Career Services. We provide internships for all the Frontier League teams, like the Schaumburg Boomers, the Gary RailCats, the Joliet Slammers, and the Windy City ThundeBolts. Internships include Camera Operators, Audio Board techs, and more. If baseball isn’t your thing, then explore the many radio internships from our local stations, internships that include promotions, video production, and event DJs. Two of our students gained DJ internships with a local vendor. They are now trained and ready to rock for weekend events. Their DJ internships turned into paid jobs. Our Career Services department can help you start your career at many of the Chicagoland stations, from Crystal Lake to Crest Hill and everything in between.
