Chicago Campus Updates

We hosted an Adobe Workshop on Oct. 1 at the State Street Campus. Instructor Drewsean Williams facilitated the event to provide students the chance to practice their skills in Adobe. We continued our #IAMIMS campaign at the Chicago location. This past month Chicago’s very own Program Director for Windy City Underground Michelle Gonzalez was featured on the Illinois Media School Facebook page. Illinois Media School conducts the #IAMIMS campaign to demonstrate to our students and those interested in the school where your training and career in broadcasting can go, and who you can also network with here at the school.

We had our biggest class start of the year at our Chicago campus this September. We have 47 new students on our campus with AM, Afternoon, and Night classes. IMS provides many starts a year in order for our students to jump in and get ready for their dream career path. IMS in Chicago has a Core Value Program which recognizes our students, faculty, and staff for 6 categories of going above and beyond in Reason, Integrity, Winning, Customer Centric, Passion, and Creativity. Congrats to our winners, and our fantastic students Kevin Offett, La Tierra Randle, Dr. Diedrus Brown, Darnell Williams, and Amelia Finefrock. These students won for one of the following core values because their peers felt they displayed it well, and went above and beyond and deserved to be recognized here at Illinois Media School.

The admissions team of Paige Tobin and Tinka Randle would like to welcome the September 2016 classes to campus! We are excited to have morning, afternoon, and evening classes in session and off to a great start. Congratulations to those students who are already involved in the stations and IMS news team, we can’t wait to see what’s next for all of you. We are now looking forward to our fall sessions, including the Sports Broadcasting featuring the partnership with the Windy City Bulls and Audio Production Emphasis Programs, which will be very exciting for both new students and alumni. WindyCityUnderground.com has had a great few weeks! We have undergone some necessary changes, like technology upgrades to better serve our students, up-to-the-moment social media interactions to highlight artist interviews, award shows, and blog content.  We continually work to make the student experience a positive one by giving monthly reviews from our student advisor First Lady to each jock on the station.  Additionally, we have incorporated blogging and a standard format clock to better allow our students a “real world” experience. Streaming live content 10am to 10pm daily, WindyCityUnderground.com is Chicago’s #1 destination for underground artists of all genres.  Part of the BeOnAir.com network WindyCityUnderground.com is opening up its doors to musicians all over the Chicagoland area.
