Welcome to the original home of the Ohio/Illinois Center for Broadcasting! It all started in Cleveland back in 1986, and now there are six other campuses across the country.

The Cleveland campus is still going strong — still launching successful careers in broadcasting. Today’s Campus Director, Terry Groden, is a 1988 graduate of the program. He worked for 24 years in radio and television before returning to OCB in April of 2012. During that span, OCB/Cleveland has grown from a small office suite to its newest state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2011.

The new campus, located on Rockside Road in Valley View (just east of Canal Road), features equipment and technology that mirrors current industry standards, and a curriculum that prepares students for work in the exciting world of broadcasting!

In addition to teaching students what they need to know, OCB/Cleveland has built long-standing relationships with media partners all over Northeast Ohio, from “The Buzzard” to “Cleveland’s Blazin Hip-Hop and R&B,” to “FOX 8” and “19 Action News.” And that means internships where OCB students apply the lessons they’ve learned and expand their network of fellow-broadcasters.

Although broadcasting has changed since 1986, and will continue to change over time, the OCB/Cleveland formula remains the same. Just ask these people how it works: Jen Toohey and Tim Richards (WDOK Morning Show), Mark Schwab (Sports Anchor for 19 Action News), Ro Digga (Middays on Z1079), JG Spooner (92.3 The Fan) and Erika Lauren (Afternoons on WMMS). They’re all graduates!
