Amanda Czernecki – Radiate Media – SKY5/NBC Traffic Reporter
The Illinois Center for Broadcasting, Chicago Campus was pleased to have traffic reporter, Amanda Czernecki, visit with the students to discuss her career and the importance of “extending oneself in an internship opportunity” or upon employment, “taking that extra shift” to insure your value as an employee.
Amanda Czernecki has spent the past decade helping Chicago area drivers get to where they need to go. Employed by Radiate Media, she’s the morning-drive traffic reporter for 100.3 WILV-FM and morning/midday news and traffic reporter for 820 WCPT-AM. However, Amanda’s work doesn’t end there. She also reports weekend traffic on WMAQ-TV and is also the station’s fill-in helicopter reporter on SKY5.
Amanda is a 2003 summa cum laude graduate of North Central College in Naperville, IL, earning her B.A in Broadcast Communications. While in college, she spent countless hours at the student-run radio station, 89.1 WONC-FM, learning anything and everything about the medium.
Whether from the ground, the air, radio or television, Amanda loves broadcasting in the city her family has called home for generations. Amanda lives in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood with her fiancé Nathan and their vivacious feline, Rogue. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods and of course, sleeping in!
Not only can you get the latest traffic trips and alerts from Amanda on radio and television, you can follow her on Facebook and @AmandaCzernecki on Twitter, as well.
The Illinois Center for Broadcasting would like to thank Amanda Czernecki for graciously spending time with our students to answer their questions and provide advice on how to advance in the media business.
