Congressman Danny Davis Visits ICB Lasalle
Congressman Danny Davis visited the La Salle campus portion of the Illinois Center for Broadcasting. Mr. Davis shared his thoughts on the important contributions made by Martin Luther King. The Congressman could not make it on MLK Day – Jan. 21 – due to his participation in the Inauguration of President Obama, but he kept his promise to visit with ICB students in February.
Congressman Davis visited the Chicago State Street campus within a week after the first class start. The Congressman was impressed with the program and was kind enough to do a testimonial on camera for the school, for the program and what he truly appreciated, the way in which we help to place grads into employment opportunities. The Congressman also displayed his prowess of sports when he sat in on the Jarrett Payton Show on the ICB Chicago Internet station, ChicagolandSportsRadio.com. Before he left he recorded a couple of “teasers” for the station. ICB has recorded the Congressman, serving as on-camera spokesperson, for his “Get Out The Vote” public service announcements, so he was familiar with our growth and expansion. That is why Executive Director, Bill Natale suggested that he tour the facilities that take the entire seventh floor of 601 S. La Salle. While on his tour, the Congressman took photos with students and staff.
